An art apart

If you get to see the diferent works of Yann such as HOME and Earth from above, you can notice something else: the music. Yann Arthus know what is the best that's why he choose one of the best musician and composer of Europe and maybe of the world: Armand Amar. For Armand Amar, the music should translate you to the place that you are seeing, and that's true, I have seen all the documentary and you imagine the place and then you see it.

He works with musicians from all over the world specially from Asia and Europe, and he knows how provide to the music a sense of uniqueness. If you see the video, you can notice that.

Home film

After Yann Arthus made a lot of documental work (three parts of Earth from above), he decide to make a film. In june 5, 2009 was the premier of Home, always with the magnificent photos from the air. It's interesting all the contents of this film.

Altitude Photo

As I wrote before, Yann Arthus Bertrand was the first to create an agence for aerial photos, called Altitude photo. If you visited the web page, you can see many of the photos from almost 90 photographers, this agence is for professional photographers, when you get inside the web page enter like a visitor.

Behind the Voh heart

The photography known as Voh heart was taken by the french photographer, journalist, reporter and environmentalist Yann Arthus-Bertrand. If you see all his pictures in his web site http://www.yannarthusbertrand.org/index_new.php you can see whats the real nature around the world, he was the first person that worked with aerial pictures and he creates his own company in 1990 called Altitude Agency and you can also see that he founded in 2005 the international environmental organisation GoodPlanet (you can see it in the web page too) his work has been around the nature and it's amazing how he takes the pictures and the way he sees the world.

What´s Voh heart

Heart in Voh,New Caledonia, France.

Its a mangrove swamp, is an amphibious tree formation common to muddy tropical coastlines with fluctuating tides. It consists of various halophytes (plants that can develop in a saline environment) and a predominance of mangroves. These swamps are found on four continents, covering a total area of 65,000 square miles (170,000 km2), or nearly 25 percent of the world’s coastal areas.

This represents only half of the original range, because these fragile swamps have been continually reduced by the overexploitation of resources, agricultural and urban expansion, and pollution. The mangrove remains, however, as indispensable to sea fauna and to the equilibrium of the shoreline as it is to the local economy. New Caledonia, a group of Pacific islands covering 7,000 square miles (18,575 km2), has 80 square miles (200 km2) of a fairly low (25 to 33 feet, or 8 to 10 m) but very dense mangrove swamp, primarily on the west coast of the largest island, Grande Terre.

At certain spots in the interior that are not reached by seawater except at high tides, vegetation gives way to bare, oversalted stretches called “tannes,” such as this one near the city of Voh, where nature has carved this clearing in the form of a heart.
